All
Saints' enjoyed a delightful visit from the
Norfolk Keyboard Orchestra on Saturday 10th December.
The
players, all aged between 9 and 16, entertained shoppers, regular visitors
and supporters with a varied programme of music, and the Centre was alive
with sound and people. Our coffee bar was extra busy all
morning!
The Norfolk Keyboard Orchestra is a Norfolk
Music Service ensemble, consisting of 26 members. All are pupils in
Norfolk schools, with an age range from 9 to 16. The
electronic keyboards are amplified and linked to a mixing desk, and the
group often performs with singers, live drums and other instruments. The
versatility of the keyboard, and the imaginative arrangements of the music
create an exciting and unusual sound.
Many
thanks to all who helped with and supported our Christmas stall and Grand
Draw in December. The stall raised £421.93 and the Draw £560. Every
event helps a little towards our ever increasing costs, so thanks to
all!
The Carol
Service was once again an enjoyable and festive event. The service
was led by our chaplain, our speaker was Peter Threadkell and the High Oak
Recorder ensemble provided us with a musical interlude. Tea and Christmas
fare was, as usual, a popular finale!
